Bidston Football Project
Following ASB reports of young people playing football in the street the local housing officer approached the Community Regenerations Team about developing a diversionary project.
Regular football sessions were delivered at Bidston Tennis Centre. With help from volunteers at Magenta Livings community house on Clover Drive the project was promoted to families in the community.
Outcomes
The project was accessed by 50 children between the ages 6 – 12. Many of the children did not play football regularly and the project provided a great opportunity for them to get involved.
“My son really enjoys coming every week, he has been diagnosed with dyspraxia and ADHD, this group has really lifted his spirits and confidence it has taught him how to bond with other children and work as a team. He has been really happy since coming to football and looks forward to it, really commend the staff for the fabulous work they do"
